FRENCH TOAST BAKE – Easy too!

Ingredients:

INGREDIENTS QUANTITY
Melted butter (1 stick) 1/2 cup
Brown sugar 1 cup
Thickly sliced bread 1 loaf
Eggs 4
Milk 1 1/2 cups
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Powdered sugar (for sprinkling) To taste
Cinnamon (for sprinkling) To taste
Warm maple syrup For serving

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in the microwave and add brown sugar. Stir until mixed.
  2. Pour the butter and sugar mixture into the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan and spread it around.
  3. Beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Lay single slices of bread in the pan.
  5. Spoon half of the egg mixture over the bread layer.
  6. Sprinkle some cinnamon over the bread and eggs.
  7. Add a second layer of sliced bread.
  8. Spoon on the remaining egg mixture.
  9. Cover the pan and chill it in the fridge overnight.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake the French Toast Bake for 45 minutes, covered for the first 30 minutes.
  12. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
  13. Serve with warm maple syrup.
